Socks knitted for my friend.

My friend came for weekend and I wanted to prepare gift for her. I started to knit socks, made of special sock yarn that is printed and make interesting pattern. I didnot know how big feet has my friend but I managed to make them OK and she was really happy.

Poncho for my niece

This sweet girl is my niece Karolina. I love to knit nice things for her because everything suits her. This poncho was made of three different types of yarn:
1. coloured fringe yarn is used on stripes, small amount of yarn, but looks very nice
2. yellow yarn, it was cotton or viscose or something like this
3. dark blue, it is not black,

Second picture shows perfectly how the poncho looks. It consists of 12 squares modul knitted, four pieces from dark yarn, I started to knit them from long side bottom.

Noro Kureyon Blanket

I know, this is just basic modular knitting, but mitered squares and Noro Kureyon go so well together. This blanket took me almost a year to finish. Real knitting time was about three weeks, plus 4 days for the border, which is knitted on sideways, in plain garter stitch. I'm pleased and happy that it's done.

Lets dive right in ....

Thank you Ivana for inviting me to join this Modulong group! My first post will be about my Smoking Hot Socks. Over the last two weeks I've knit nothing but these socks, so I could write it up as a pattern ( you can find the pattern as a free download on my blog ). Now, I know I'm not the first one to do socks with mitered squares, there are lots of variations out there. But I wanted a toe up sock with the short row heel (jojo heel or boomerang heel). I'm wearing the prototype socks right now. It's the orange yellow ones. The blue socks will be for my husband, and the Trekking XXL # 100 will be for myself.

I've knit modular over the past year, in fact I think it's an interesting way to use the beautiful variegated yarns out there. I'm always on the look out for new designs in modular knitting, but try to make my own as well. Sometimes I think everything has been done already, but to my amazement people still come up with wonderful ideas! I sure hope I will be one of them. ;o)

I love modular knitting

I knit more than twenty years and I love to make my own designs. When I have seen modular knitting I fall in love because it gave so wide possibilites to create something really interesting and "different". I spent a lot of time browsing and trying to find something about modknit and then I decided to open a new blog to share my passion with world.
I hope I will find similar people to contribute to this blog. If you are interested, please leave a comment.
